"Yeah, so it turns out there are lots and lots of African Mormons," Parker said.
Nairobi -- After enjoying historic success in the United States, Trey Parker and Matt Stone took their smash hit The Book of Mormon Musical to Africa for a grand tour. Yet somehow, the millions of African Latter-day Saints did not find the musical very funny.
For decades the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has grown rapidly in Africa. African Saints have sent thousands of missionaries to America or Europe or Asia to preach the Gospel. Broadway critics were stunned when the African Tour was cancelled, citing lack of interest. In a last ditch effort, the writers were flown into the last leg of the tour to promote the production, where they were surprised to learn not allAfricans were the same.
"I just learned that Africa is not actually a country," said Stone in a conversation with the Megaphone. "It was worse in Kanye!" he continued. "Do you mean Kenya?" our reporter inquired. "Whatever" he said dismissively, while posting black squares to his Instagram profile.
When asked if he was planning on making a sequel dedicated to the Q'uran, the writer just ran away.
